026 - The Pepper
While this image is an nod to Weston's classic quot;Pepper 30quot; image, it is also paying homage to a plant.br/ br/This small, red pepper was harvested from a pepper plant that sits in a nondescript pot in my front yard. I can't tell you had old the plant is, but it has been through three house moves, multiple seasons, drought, goats, neglect and love. Yet, being well over a decade old, it never ceases to produce fruit. I admire its hardiness and defiance and wanted to capture the literal fruit of its stoic labors. Regardless of what is thrown at this plant, it will not yield to the trial. When the season of distress passes, there is fruit ready for harvesting.
